Chautauqua Begins Sunday

We are excited that this Sunday begins our Chautauqua.  Each year we invite visitors to come and bring us the sermon at our worship service.   We can hear different voices speaking to us about our mission as a church.   Today,  Joy Simpson, a second year student at Saint Paul School of Theology and a member of MCC Topeka brings us our message.  Then on August 8th Rev. Dr. Robyn Provis, from Minneapolis will join us for Sunday morning worship.  Dr. Provis has a great sense of humor and her partner is originally from Kansas City.   On August 15th Rev. Susan Vogel, long-time friend of Pastor Kurt and friend of our community will be here to preach.   On August 22nd, Pastor Kurt will bring us an anniversary message for our church inviting us to the next 38 years of excellence.  And the final speaker on August 29th will be our Pastor Emeritus Rev. John Barbone.  Following that service the Board of Directors will serve up cake and ice cream in celebration of our 38thYear of MCC in Kansas City.   We hope you can join us all of August for this exciting lineup of preachers.
